Many thanks to Heather, Eunice and James, who each in their own way, contributed in making this print now hang above my front door.

I designed all the paper stuff and had it letterpressed printed at work:
As the matron-of-honor, my only requirement was to wear something navy. Since I abide by somewhat strict buying practices, I was a little limited in my options. I found this navy satin dress a couple weeks before at one of my favorite vintage shops in Brooklyn (for $18!):All photos by Erin Hearts Court.

stationery

A couple years ago I attended the release of a new line of stationery from renowned calligrapher Bernard Maisner. Being the stationery dork that I am, I waited in line for him to write my name in his signature style. And having access to a scanner, Adobe Illustrator and expert letterpress printers, I now own signature Maisner stationery all my own.

Thanks to James for printing these!

chasing whales through ice and snow

On the first Saturday of each month, the Maritime National Historic Park hosts a singalong of sailor songs, sea chanties if you will, abroad one of the historic ships at the Hyde Street Pier. James, friend, printer and pier volunteer, asked Anna and I to each design a poster for him to then letterpress. Given a line from one of the chanties, we each came up with our own interpretation of what the poster should be - mine is above and hers is below.

crafting party

Thursday night we hosted a party for Handmade Hellos at the studio. Here are some photos of my friends and coworkers that didn't make the cut for the studio blog. Above, Max and I attempt the fine art of pouring wine without spilling it on guests (we had a 90% success rate).

The ridiculously talented Sarah and Ryan from Lab Partners.

Aaron demonstrates the necessary tools for responsible letterpress printing.

My festive party footwear.

Heather and Mary bringing home the big sales.

James and Alex, guardians of the velvet rope.

All photos were taken by the very talented Anna Hurley (above).

Remember that tea towel post? Here is a sentiment that I can really get behind:

I love you because you cook me dinner.

hammerpress prints
I just adore these prints from Hammerpress:

A bargain too - just ten bucks apiece! How cute would these be as baby shower gifts?
