wave hill gardens
We took a short train ride on my favorite Metro-North line (also, the only one I've ever taken) to visit Wave Hill Gardens in the Bronx this past weekend. The weather in New York has been so amazing lately that it seemed criminal not to be outdoors. Wave Hill was just beginning to show signs of spring, so I can only imagine how lovely it will be when things really start blooming in a few weeks.

jane's carousel
Jane's Carousel opened this summer in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Built in 1922, the carousel was originally installed at Idora Park in Youngstown, Ohio. In the early 80's a local couple purchased the carousel and began the long process of restoration in their Dumbo studio. Twenty-seven years later, the carousel is open to the public, housed in a Jean Nouvel pavilion and overlooking the Manhattan skyline.

blue hill at stone barns
If you read this blog regularly (hi mom) you know that I love to eat, so Jeff and I were beyond excited to visit Blue Hill at Stone Barns, a culinary mecca about 45 minutes north of the city. We showed up early to explore the grounds, which were so so lovely. I don't have any pictures of the meal (it was pretty dark in the dining room - there is a nice flickr set here if you are curious), but I can assure you that it was one of the best I've ever had; everything was truly exceptional - from the food to the presentation to the wine to the service. I took a ton of pictures of the property - so there is a bit of a photo overload here. Enjoy!

turquoise
Spotted this beautiful anchor necklace over on my friend Hannah's blog....I didn't even know I liked turquoise, but this is really stunning. From here.
Also - did you know that Anthropologie launched a wedding line? Not surprising, it's highly gorgeous.

ranunculus
A friend brought me ranunculus last weekend. I love how the bright red looks against my yellow table.

31 rue cambon

31 Rue Cambon was the fabulous flat of Coco Chanel, situated above the Chanel boutique in Paris. Today, the apartment is used for press interviews, fashion shoots and haute couture clients. There is a lovely story about the history of the apartment on NPR by Susan Stamberg. To listen, please click here.
