halston

If you have any interest in fashion, branding, the 1970's or Liza Minelli, you must watch Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston.

fashion police

Do you watch Fashion Police? I'm borderline obsessed with Joan Rivers (and they have segments called "Guess me from behind" and "Starlet or Streetwalker").

impossible conversations

There's just starting to be trickles of press about this exhibit and I can't wait to see it.

diy: rope necklace

Recently, I pinned this leather rope necklace I found here. I loved the look of the piece but not its $496 price tag. After visiting the incredible creations at the Museum at FIT, I was feeling especially inspired (it also doesn't hurt that the museum is walking distance to my favorite trim store). Instead of leather, I used a thread-based rope, which produced a fairly similar look:
All in, I think the materials cost me around $8 including the hardware (I already had pliers and E6000 at home). Jeff thinks its weird to wear a rope around your neck, but as with his usual fashion suggestions (matching is so overrated) I choose to ignore him. It's cute, right?

impact

All images from here.
Impact, the current exhibit on display at the Museum at FIT, celebrates 50 years of the CFDA. The exhibit features about 100 pieces from some of the most influential members of the CFDA. There is a great slideshow of the member's work here.
