The particular cabin on Lost Lake that we visited has been owned by my aunt for the last 4 years. I loved all the quirky details - most of the furniture and decor were hand-me-downs or found on the street. My kind of place!

the glass house: interior
As I mentioned earlier, I thought the Glass House was pretty much perfectly proportioned for living. It didn't hurt that almost all the furniture was by Mies van ser Rohe either.

floral wallpaper
Inspired by this pin, I used my leftover halloween costume to make floral(ish) wallpaper. It didn't come out nearly as good as my book wallpaper, but it adds an interesting element to my otherwise bland and random office.
Sorry for the crap photos! There's no window in this room which makes shooting anything look terrible.

museum of art and design: crafting modernism
Crafting Modernism at the Museum of Art & Design is now closed, but you can still see all the pieces from the exhibit here. Do what I did and envision everything neatly arranged in your dream home.

oheka: inside
Overall, the inside of the castle wasn't as impressive as the outside. There were a lot of interesting period details, but I felt like something was lacking design-wise. The furniture and design details were somewhat dated and just not terribly thoughtful. Our hotel room was great, but of course, I didn't take any photos of that. Here are some of the details I did enjoy.
