Loving these California inspired posters from my friends over at Lab Partners. Check out their newly re-designed site - it looks amazing!

ugh

Is anyone having trouble with Blogger today? All my photos are uploading in a warped House of Mirrors sort of way. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon!

mad men yourself

If you are a fan of Mad Men and enjoy creating avatars, then Mad Men Yourself is for you. I had so much fun making one for myself, that I made one for Jeff as well.

Thanks Meredith!

maker faire

I lost what was left of my voice working the booth at the Maker Faire on Saturday. I wish I had felt a little better as there was so much to see there - way more than I had originally anticipated, including innovative rides (above) and Victorian-inspired Steampunk cars:

Maybe knitted poo isn't for everyone, but I thought it was hilarious (forgive the use of Papyrus):

I'm always a fan of seeing ArtCars, such as Mercedes Pens:

and the candy house:

This 20' sculpture (the photos don't do it justice) was made entirely of used soda bottles:

louisville photographic booth company

One of the many highlights from Eunice's wedding was the photo booth from Louisville Photographic Booth Company (also know as Kirian's uncle's company). Seriously, it was hours of entertainment. The props (including mustaches, album covers, hats and sunglasses) really added to the mayhem.

coraline

Jeff and I went to see Coraline this weekend, a truly spectacular visual treat. As a completely handmade production, even Coraline's tiny sweaters were custom made for the film. The above video is a demonstration on how micro-knitter Althea Crome made one of the key costumes for the film.

old time-y photos

In the never ending world of new and somewhat useless online applications I came across this one that claims "photos like over 100 to 150 years old".

For example, this photo:

poladroid

Poladriod is a free application that makes your digital photos look like Polaroids. How fun is that! Slightly ironic, and not entirely very useful, but entertaining for computer geeks like myself. It even makes that fun sound when the picture comes out of the camera:
