After two returns, I finally settled on a backpack. It's perfect - fits my laptop and wacom tablet and doesn't even look that dorky (hopefully!).

Sometimes I get frustrated at my job (don't we all?). Then I get an email like this, and I remember how much I love what I do.  :)

Another day, another bike ride. This time we went to Dumbo and ate sandwiches from Radish in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

new apt, same dilemma

In my LA apartment, I struggled with what color rug to get, and 3000 miles away, I'm doing the same thing all over again. Its the same furniture for the most part and the same color palate - moss green and wood, with orange, yellow and brass accents. I picked up four samples from my current favorite local furniture shop to try out - a diamond pattern in both powder blue (above) and brown (below):

The colors didn't photograph accurately in the living room (kinda dark in there) so I reshot them in natural light. Please note the helpful numbering system so you can tell me which one (if any) you like the best.

Citta del Mare is a hotel in Sicily where you can take a water slide directly into the Mediterranean Sea. Uh, can we go right now?

 Took a bike ride through Greenpoint the other day to Monsignor McGolrick Park...

...to the north end of Brooklyn.

office, etc

My office was feeling a bit depressing (probably because it's the only room in the apartment without a window) so I decided to liven things up with the leftover paper link chains from the trade show. Much better!

 I also hung my Lab Partners calendar and Kiosk whistle.

All this in an 8 by 10 foot space - that's urban living for you!

care package

Anna sent me the loveliest care package for my birthday complete with Four Barrel coffee, homemade cherry jam, chocolate chip cookies and lavender sugar, candy from Taiwan, and random bits and bobs. Thanks dear!

smorgasburg

On Saturday we walked over to Smorgasburg, the all food version of the Brooklyn Flea, and ate pupusas by the water. Next time I'll take more photos!
