katie's apartment

The rest of my sister's apartment is looking so cute, it seems a shame not to share. The fruit bowl and plate set (above) were found at two different flea markets - one in the bay area and one in LA!
I'm the flower girl on the right - and my mom made those dresses!

plate wall

Over the weekend my sister and I created a plate wall for her new apartment, inspired by this one. We used a mixture of new and thrifted plates (the new ones came from Anthropologie and American Rag) and if we weren't so particular about it, the whole thing would have taken under an hour to put up.
Pretty cute, huh?!

nyc: food

Where to start? I had so many delicious meals in New York. Some of my favorite dishes included blueberry jam and bacon pizza at Pulino's:
The famed Crack Pie (below) and compost cookie from Milk Bar:
I don't have photos of these, but they were equally delicious:
Brussels sprout pizza from Motorino
Chinese sausage from Kuma Inn
Figgy piggy and soft shell crab from Little Giant
Skillet eggs at Freemans
Everything at Lupa
Chicken from Lot 2
...and cheese & sparking wine on our cousin's roof garden!

nyc: whitney and moma

I explored the Whitney Biennial with Hannah and Marina - a much need respite from the recycled air and fluorescent lighting of the Jacob Javits Center. Since I'm not super into video art and installation, my favorite pieces at the show were bright floral drawings from Charles Ray, and re-interpreted still life's from Lesley Vance.
On my own, I visited MoMA to see a retrospective of one of my favorite photographers, Henri Cartier-Bresson. It was a really beautiful exhibit with about 300 photographs taken all over the world.
