baby blanket
Just finished this blanket for a baby known in utero as "peanit"*.
*Apparently, that's how "peanut" sounds when you are from Vermont.

mother and daughter
I started out making a hat for a 12-month-old but somehow messed up the sizing so much that it ended up fitting me. Instead, I made a new smaller version for the actual baby and am going to give the larger one to her mum so they can be twinsy-bops.

a monster eating monster!
It's a monster eating monster! Kelly sent me photos of her adorable son Elliott sporting his monster hat. So cute! The monster is almost as big as he is!
Thanks for the photos KB!

mouse hat
One of my very good friends (who is also an amazing knitter) is with child, and this presented a real conundrum - what do you make the master knitter? The last pregnant member of the SF knitting group received the flock mobile, so this couldn't be a half-assed endeavor. KW had the genius idea to each create an animal from a classic children's book as our gift (along with the book). I picked Goodnight Moon, and made a matching mouse hat.
Can I brag about what amazing knitters my friends are? They stayed on track with the concept (toy patterns aren't my strong suit). Khristina made this adorable caterpillar:
And Nell made a super cute elephant:

baby in a bonnet
My lovely friend Kelly sent me a picture of her adorable daughter in the bonnet I made for her. So cute, right?!

GRUMPY + grumpy
This is Grumpy - I guess he is some sort of monster-ish being (evil rabbit? ambivalent horned creature?), but I liked that he is creepy cute (in an Ugly doll kinda way). He's for Baby B, who is due very soon!
Please note the kooky tail. I had some yarn left over, so I made a matching hat (uh, for the baby).

Made by me - no pattern, I just made it up. Sorry!

a bevy of baby gifts
With all the babies being born lately, I have become a one-woman-baby-gift-making-machine. Baby girl Dorrance received a matching booties and bonnet set (above and below).
Owen got this hat for those harsh Chicago winters:
Jack got a pair of green booties:
And baby O'Neill got this gender neutral hat:

katy's baby shower
"Berry sweet" was the theme of the shower I attended last weekend. The hosts decorated with blue candy, signs, ribbon and patterns.

shower gifts
A baby shower gift for a good friend includes a onesie/bib/burp cloth set from The Fresh Stitch (that onesie has a tie on it! That's so cute!). I added a pair of knitted booties to match. I hope she likes it!

flock!
A group of friends and I just finished this mobile for a recent baby shower. We each knit an individual piece to create a handmade gift for our expecting friend. I wish I could have attended the actual shower, but I'm still thrilled with how it came out.

stella, welcome

Stella is 5 days old and she might very well be the cutest baby ever. I can't wait until she is big enough to wear the hat I made for her.
