sandy hook

On a recent recommendation, we took the ferry to Sandy Hook and I couldn't be more pleased with the suggestion (thanks James!). The day started with a soft shell crab sandwich at Moby's in Highlands.
After lunch, we rode our bikes to Sandy Hook, a national park located at the north end of the real Jersey Shore.
There was a great bike path that led all through the park, part of which contained the old military buildings of Fort Hancock.
At one point we happened upon the Sandy Hook Lighthouse, the oldest operating lighthouse in America, and took a tour that lead us up 95 steps to the top.
Good times!
All photos by me.
