a delectable duo

This past weekend I whipped up a delicious combination of blondies and brownies. Enjoy!
BLONDIES (adapted from How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman)

1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1 cup flour
1/2 to 1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 to 1 cup chopped dried cherries

- Preheat oven to 350º. Grease an 8" square baking pan.
- Melt the butter over low heat.
- Beat the melted butter with the sugar until smooth, then add the egg and vanilla.
- Add the salt and flour. Once combined add the chips and cherries.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes until barely set in the middle. Cool before cutting.
BROWNIES (adapted from How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman)
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1/2 cup + 1 tbsp flour
1/2 to 1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 to 1 cup chopped toasted pecans or walnuts
1/4 cup whiskey

- Preheat oven to 350º. Grease an 8" square baking pan.
- Melt the unsweetened chocolate and butter over low heat.
- Beat the melted chocolate and butter with the sugar, then add the eggs.
- Gradually add the vanilla, salt and flour. Once combined add the chips, toasted nuts and whiskey.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes until barely set in the middle. Cool before cutting.

YUMM. Nice pictures, too! I like that they are really close up shots and take up my whole screen, making me wish they were actually that big.

Painfully easy to make, it seems! Thank you for sharing!!!! I made white choco peanut butter blondies a month or so ago and they were great! I will try your recipe soon!
