Crossroads of the World is said to be America's first outdoor shopping mall when it opened in 1936. The main building (above and below) is supposed to look like an ocean liner.
Today, the surrounding cottage-style bungalows house mostly office space.
Full of painted and tiled details, the complex has been used in many movies over the years. They just don't make them like they used to!
