going to nyc

I leave for New York exactly one week from today! I'll be representing Hello!Lucky at the National Stationery Show (booth 1536 if you are attending!).The trade show will take up the majority of my time, but I'm staying through the weekend to visit with family and hang out. So far, my short list of must-do's include seeing the High Line, visiting MoMA, and eating at Momofuku milk bar, The Breslin, and Pulino's. Do you have any suggestions? I'd love to hear them!

what i wore

Sweater: thrifted/ Shirt: H&M/ Dress: Zac Posen for Target*/ Shoes: Worishofer sandals/ Bag: Gift/ Sunglasses: Paul Frank
*full disclosure: I did in fact purchase a new item, breaking my not new rule. I love this dress, and I'll never be able to afford an actual Zac Posen piece....excuses, excuses.....

clogs

I can't stop thinking about clogs. All the fashion-y girls on blogs wear them. But why are they so expensive? These are my favorite, but would make me over six feet tall, so maybe these are a better option.

The Swedish site has better colors, but the shipping is a killer. Endless offers free shipping and free returns, but not as many color options. It's also possible that I just have all things Swedish on the brain, since I'm currently staying up too late reading this.

from the flea: santa monica airport

I've nearly completed the superfecta of Los Angeles flea markets (Long Beach is the last on my list) after visiting the Santa Monica airport flea market this past weekend. In general, I thought it was too small and fairly expensive (note that I am also incredibly cheap), but they did have some nice things.
I didn't end up getting anything (holding out for the Rose Bowl in a few weeks), but my mom got these cute plates:

california science center

I was underwhelmed by the California Science Center - perhaps it would have been more interesting if I was or had a child....I also unfairly judged it against the spectacular Academy of Science in San Francisco. Nevertheless, it's always interesting to see a new place and I did like the Aerial sculpture.
