The Hollyhock House was designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright for heiress Aline Barnsdall in 1921. She disliked the house, and soon donated it along with the surrounded lands (now refereed to as Barnsdall Park) to the city of Los Angeles in 1927.
The name Hollyhock House was given to the structure due to the stylized representation of the Hollyhock flower that Wright used as decoration along the outside.
You aren't allowed to take photos inside the house, but I assure that it's definitely worth a visit!
