natural history museum

The Natural History Museum hosts a concert series on the first Friday of every month, aptly named First Fridays. Co-hosted with KCRW, the band sets up in the African Hall while the North American Hall serves as a bar. The museum is open late and doesn't look any different from when I last visited, which was probably twenty years ago.
The gem room was always my favorite though.

from the flea: what i bought

Since I'm so into belting these days, it seemed a good idea to increase my collection. Have you ever bought something thinking it was vintage only to discover said item is really from Target? Because that never happens to me (2nd from the left).
I also got a pin (above) and Vera tea towel (but more on that later).

from the flea: what i saw

Took a trip to the Pasadena City College flea market this weekend for the first time. It was definitely more manageable than the Rose Bowl in terms of both size and price, but I wasn't blown away by the selection. It was Easter Sunday, so I imagine that a lot of vendors took the day off.

venice canals

The Venice canals were originally built in 1905 to drain the areas marshes to create the resort beach town known as Venice of America. Today it's a community of pricey modern homes mixed in with the original pricey homes.
