Apparently, I missed a lot of stuff on my first visit to the Museum of Natural History. On my second visit, I greatly enjoyed the gem room and Whoopi Goldberg-narrated planetarium show.

castle williams

Castle Williams, on Governors Island, has served as a fort, prison, and haunted house over the course of its 200 year old history. There is also a very nice view of the Manhattan skyline from the roof.

breezy point

After visiting both Fort Tilden and the Rockaways last summer, I knew I wanted to explore more of the Rockaway Peninsula. We took our bikes to the end of the A line and then rode out to Breezy Point, a cute beach community at the western edge.
